When visitors think of Costa Rica, they think of rainforests, exotic wildlife, and breathtaking beaches. But the TRUE food of the people? Ze hot dog. Heated. In a bun. With condiments. We have traveled FAR to bring you this recipe.

Ingredients

• 1 hot dog (any brand, any size, do not worry about this)
• 1 hot dog bun
• Ketchup (generous)
• Mustard (optional, but recommended for authenticity)
• Mayonnaise (this is Costa Rica, yes, mayonnaise)

Instructions

1. Take ze hot dog out of ze package.
2. Heat ze hot dog. You may use a pan, a microwave, or simply hold it near something warm. Ze method is not important. Ze result is a warm hot dog.
3. Place ze warm hot dog inside ze bun.
4. Apply ketchup.
5. Apply mustard if you are feeling adventurous.
6. Apply mayonnaise. Do not skip zis step. Zis is what makes it Costa Rican.
7. Eat it. You are now experiencing Costa Rica.
